About Us

The Football Development Centre was formed in 2002 as a branch from the successful (Mark Fogarty) Football Development Scheme based in Solihull. The Football Development Scheme and Centre now work in over 50 schools in the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire area delivering football to children of all ages and abilities. We run fun based activities concentrating on teaching the fundamentals of the game and the basic skills required to play football, our emphasis has always been about having fun in a safe and structured environment.

Saturday Football Fun Sessions  

For children between the ages of 3 & 8: Based on the success of the current after school football coaching sessions provided, FDC run and organise saturday football fun sessions for players regardless of ability, gender and football experience and are set up to provide children a safe environment to enjoy their footballing experience; as with the after school sessions, emphasis is placed on FUN  and ENJOYMENT.

Football Developement School & Academy

For children between the ages of 6 & 11: The development school is a progression from the after school clubs/Saturday fun sessions and is inviation only. Players that are invited by our coaches mustshow enthusiasm and commitment towards football and have a good level of ability and potential. The overall aim of the development school is to work on technique, speed, agility, and quickness sessions progressing finally onto team play. The development school is designed to enhance your child’s natural ability whilst working to a technical programme. Throughout the year your child will cover all aspects of the game as well as having the opportunity to play against other players on a regular basis.

For players between the ages of 10 & 14: the Academy is a further advancement from the Development Schools and aims to work on more technical aspects of the game; Players are invited based on their overall game as well as showing high levels of commitment, enthusiasm and ability. Players are coached on SAQ, movement patterns, nutrition, forward thinking and many more technical parts of the game that will be introduced for playersshowing the desire and willingness to learn. Games will periodically be arranged against other Development Schools and academy’s to test the players in a different environment. The academy currently play in a pro select development league against sides such as West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City, Bristol Rovers, Wrexham, Crewe Alexander, TNS and Leicester City Development centre. We have representative sides from Under 8 – Under 14.
